If it resonates and radiates, I'm fine with it. But it must be rugged and

I wonder if the simplest option would be a "mock"
Starduster.....
Full half wave, broadband enough for frequency
change, no less "gain" than a J-pole, and infinitely
easier to construct....essentially a 1/4 wave ground
plane with the radials brought down almost to it's
support pipe and the coax fed through the
pipe...built in decoupling, and no adjustments necessary!
What do you think?
