[450] Looking For J Pole Construction $$

I wonder if the simplest option would be a "mock"
Starduster.....
Full half wave, broadband enough for frequency
change, no less "gain" than a J-pole, and infinitely
easier to construct....essentially a 1/4 wave ground
plane with the radials brought down almost to it's
support pipe and the coax fed through the
pipe...built in decoupling, and no adjustments necessary!

What do you think?

Need more info.
Frequency obviously, but also...do they HAVE to be
j-poles?
Do the $$ in the subject line indicate money is
available for materials?
