[450] Packet signals

Well, if it was up to me I’d vote no. I have no PL capability on some of my best old rigs. But I will defer to the majority....after all this is still a democracy, unless Trump started running the frequency...LOL. And I’m just kidding, no need to get a political discussion going...we know how well those always turn out!

Hate to say this. I said this three or four years ago.
ANYONE can get into the link (as long as they are on the list)
As far as the RF part of the link on .450, there might need a PL...thus gettint rid of the packet traffic and such.
Yes, I know it's a bummer.
However, we can all talk locally without bring up the link

, (no PL)....if we want to , we can.

Thoughts?

I am beaming SW. It was over S-9.
From what my my ears hear, it's a short transmission, probably just an ID. Not a node.

Earlier today, Bob and I had a QSO about this and got talking about the weather balloon based packet experiments that were happening a few years ago. Based out of some university....in Southern NH, we think.
I wonder if this is the same stuff.

      I don't have a packet set-up though.

Assuming it's not one of you guys, could anyone try to catch a call sign on the packet bursts that have been happening for 2 days on 450?
