[450] Monitoring looking north 450FM

I think communication should be possible with the beam. RXF
is 233 miles, FSY 160 miles. I was able to go those
distances on SSB. I don't remember FM results. Bob and I
communicated from his station to my mobile (with halo) well
into NH. I think he was running over 400 W or more into an H
frame. It is difficult getting out of this area  except for
S/SW. There are mountains all around except for S/SW. I
can't reach the Mt. Washington repeater from mobile until I
go about 25 miles S or N of my location. Although I am on a
hill with some elevation, it is still on the side of a hill.
I am on the west side of Pike Hill which I think is part of
the problem.

HF works well however. Have not tried 1.3 M (100 W, four el)
or 33 cm (30 W 7 el) yet.

When George gets a beam up it will be doable in flat
conditions I think.
