Who wants to try this? I dont think we have a chance in hell of working him
if he only has a 1/4 wave and 50W on the Jersey Shore....

Who is up for trying though?

John thanks for the reply. I'm sorry but I currently don't have a beam for
2 meter set up at the house. I do have a ground plain I can use. What time
and what days? I love to chime in. My station is really set up for Hf,I
have a HEX beam plus a little in the tress. I will say, this may all change
shortly.

Thank you please give me the time and day.

Also Cody, there are more than a few guys here on the frequency and in the
group who are very in to modeling antennas, theory , amplifier design,
engineering, etc.

I'd be happy to help you with modeling your Cushcraft beam as well - on the
one condition that you make an attempt to work us all up here in
Connecticut! Even from your home QTH with your beam pointed up this way and
50 watts from the Mark IIG, there are stations here that most likely could
pull you out !!

I think it's worth a shot !!

Well I made my first 2 meter EME contact on January 2,2014 with I2FAK .My
station Icom 706MllG 50 watts, battery powered my antenna is a Cushcraft
A148-10S. My antenna was set up on the beach on the Jersey shore ,the
weather was brutal, high winds and surf . My antenna was at a height of
9/10 feet; moon rise was 13:00 UTC and running WSJT65b . What a sight when
I saw:“OOO” then” RRR”. Franco report to me was -31/32 ,I’ll take it. I
think I’m hooked. My next attempt I will use my I Com 746 pro much better
radio and 100 watts . Also I must operate portable due to the high trees in
my yard. However, the beach is only a few miles from my home. Maybe this
spring I will upgrade to a 17B2.
I was wondering if anybody in the group could model my Cushcraft A148-10s
for me with EZNEC. I am looking for a graphic file with elevation patterns.
