this could be the problem!
"Power Source: ..................... 12-16 VDC, Negative or Positive Ground"

I need to make it NEGATIVE ground only and I bet it will straighten  
out the antenna sitch. either that or I can do a test using the 706  
and see if I still get screwy results.
