<p>We use a 7100 for testing purposes at the ARRL Lab. It produces really clean output. Also you can hook up a screen to it and have a band scope, waterfall display along with all that other cool stuff. I'm not sure if the Yaesu has that feature.<br />Icom also solved the heat problem that plagued the 706 and the 7000.<br /><br />Other than that, I guess it's personal preference.</p>
