<div>George! You haven't heard about "the link"?<br></div>
<div>Concieved and implemented by Dave, a crude simplex Echolink node has already been established on 450 and is undergoing 'beta testing" as I type!</div>
<div> </div>
<div>We have already had sign ins from Josh, N3WRX (now in NJ), John, W1QEX) now in GERMANY!, Shawn, N2DXT, as a pedestrian mobile in NYC and from a plane leaving New Orleans!, also others from Vermont, New Jersey, etc. Even Jay, N1UJT from the Catskills!</div>
<div> </div>
<div>This has now become a "group project" (can you believe it?) and the plan is to make it "stand alone" and permanent from atop East Mountain from John's folks' place with a stacked set of loops and one of the dead display Kenwoods! Dave is working on software, firmware, and hardware for the interfacing and keying, I am building the antennas, N1ONZ is donating a "Nomic" from West Mtn. Radio, and YOU are donating a Kenwood as a backup! I have two others already to get us started...</div>
<div>Essentially, if you are "on the call sign list", you can access the link and for all intents and purposes remotely operate a 50 watt stacked loop simplex station on top of East Mountain from your computer or smart phone.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Cool, huh?<br></div>

Oops, NSA is watching! That will definitely work and is low risk. Some number of moons ago there was a Huffy bicycle event that involved a contest to see how far someone could toss a Huffy. It was a long time ago, but I vaguely recall disassembly of a Huffy by a similar method. All kidding aside, SawzAll or small easily handled chain saws (depending on the dimensions of the wood) and a careful analysis of the design of the tree house to know where to cut first/last. I would tie ropes to it to encourage the fall in an appropriate direction. Perhaps two lines with a come along in each line would be good<u></u><u></u></span></p>

I will have 170 W on SSB/FM 2 M when I get the station set up. It might be about 200 mi air distance. I have a bit over 800 ft. elevation and a big lake that might serve some useful propagation purpose. I will try to communicate back to CT on 450 once I am in New Hampshire and have the station up. I will probably have HF before VHF as that is easier to set up.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
