I see sched 40 6061T6 1.25" aluminum pipe for about that same price. Because it's pipe and not tubing, the size shown is the inner diameter, so schedule 40 reads that it would be 1.66" outer diameter, with a 0.165" wall thickness. That 1.5" 6063 is 1.91" outer diameter, 0.145" thickness, but with half the ultimate tensile strength as the 6061T6. Generally, antennas are made out of the 6063, and masts out of 6061. You don't want to make masts out of the 6063 because its only half as strong as the 6061 (which is still ultimately only half as strong as steel.) There was also schedule 80 2 inch pipe, which is 2.375" OD, 0.218" wall thickness. This is too big for those rotors, though.

Note that if you shop for tubing instead of pipe, you can find 6061T6 1.5" OD 1/4" wall for $107.15, or 1.75" OD for $53 more.

On Sun, Sep 27, 2009 at 10:20 AM, Thomas Moore <piper925@att.net> wrote:
carry to the link. Didn't think so, but it was worth a shot. When searching
