Below is the message I sent out to the offending packet station:

Todd;

Are you aware you (or someone using your callsign) are transmitting packet signals on 144.450?

This frequency is used by a large group of local stations for simplex FM , and has been for nearly 20 years.

We also run an echolink simplex link on the frequency, and have been doing so for over 3 years

These packet signals are interfering with us.

K1TMS-9*>T1PV6X (UI):

The above packet was monitored at approximately 2:15 EST today, March 8th.

Thank you,

73 de W2TMA Rich

Hi guys,

Due to the persistence of the packet signal on "450", I have added a 162.2 tone squelch to my receiver. If you wish to be heard by my station, a 162.2 tone will be required until further notice.

Thanks, Bob N1UJS
