Well I made my first 2 meter EME contact on January 2,2014 with I2FAK .My station Icom 706MllG 50 watts, battery powered my antenna is a Cushcraft A148-10S. My antenna was set up on the beach on the Jersey shore ,the weather was brutal, high winds and surf . My antenna was at a height of 9/10 feet; moon rise was 13:00 UTC and running WSJT65b . What a sight when I saw:“OOO” then” RRR”. Franco report to me was -31/32 ,I’ll take it. I think I’m hooked. My next attempt I will use my I Com 746 pro much better radio and 100 watts . Also I must operate portable due to the high trees in my yard. However, the beach is only a few miles from my home. Maybe this spring I will upgrade to a 17B2.
I was wondering if anybody in the group could model my Cushcraft A148-10s for me with EZNEC. I am looking for a graphic file with elevation patterns.
