I bought a Kenwood 241a to put in Christine's car. It works fine, but  
the PL doesn't work. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. The  
Echolink radio wouldn't require a PL.
Other than that, it transmits and receives fine. The receiver on it is  
better than the 706 with the preamp on. Right now it's putting out 60  
watts and it's capable of doing close to 100.
I'd like to trade this towards the cause if someone has a 2m rig that  
works 100% and has a PL that works. Bob will attest that the 241 has  
one of the best receivers.
Chris, I think you have a radio shack 2m rig -- would you be  
interested in swapping?
Mostly - I just want to get Christine on the air from her mobile.
