This is by no means surprising. I was just discussing this a few weeks ago, with either Woody or Dave. Unfortunately, amateur radio is aging more every day and will eventually die with the last OM. There is not much we can do about it except to enjoy it while we can!

It seems that the amateur radio service does its part for public safety as well -- and that should be included in the response. You know Icom and the rest of the manufactures just don't care.
