George,

Going upstairs...had it for the day...made a jumper with a short in it, popped the preamp in the 222 amp....time to quit.
I'll be upstairs on the 2 meter station while eating and watching a movie.

Happy hiking!!

Bob

  Bob,

You are really movin' right along with this. Also appreciate the view of the thrust bearing and its application. Gives me some ideas for future.

I will be going to Hton in a few and will be there for a bit and then out for dinner. Will take Wouxon along and monitor 223.500 MHz. Will give you a call and generally make some noise on the frequency and see what happens.

  George

    Hey guys,

Got the 222 homebrew 10 element on 10' yagi up today in the vertical position.

Designed on Yagimax, constructed (12 or more years ago) with thin steel rods (very much like coat hangers, just a little stiffer) and on a lightweight (warped) wooden boom. Direct fed to two 7/16" aluminum tubes with small 3/8' adjusters sleeved in the ends and supported at center by a 6" piece of 3/8' fiberglass stolen from a "Firestick".
Mounted to the crossboom of the pair of 3's for 6 meters on the center tower.

SWR flat throughout the FM portion, all signals look good so far.

If anyone has Charlie's (KA1A) e-mail, please forward this....as I have lost his address somehow......

Another shot from the chimney end of the house, but from the back yard:

And another from the same position but showing how the rotor, thrust bearings, and support mast are configured:
