12 volts @ more current than I could ever possibly need is now easily accessed via 3/8" binding posts in a Delrin plate mounted to the front of the main shack shelf.
 
This is powered by a pair of "Orbital"  style batteries

mounted to a shelf in the garage, and fed into the shack via two neatly routed 15' long 1/0 # cables.
 
This will not only provide "backup power", but will also be the "bench supply" for high current amplifiers as I acquire them or when they "visit" for repairs.
 
Dedicated metering of voltage and current to follow, as well as a specific charging system.
The Samlex supply handles these duties for now.
 
On to the next project!
