[450] Drug Cartels murder first US citizen?

That is correct regarding the couple in Juarez. It is the believed to be the first attributable to the cartels on American soil. However, it is not a hot mmedia topic and does not make big headlines. I am sure there have been others. I could not find documentation, but I heard there was one home invasion attributable to cartel activity. There are apparently some sophisticated tunnel systems that can handle truck traffic.

They killed U.S. citizens working for the consulate in Juarez back in March.

Didn't read the articals, but I doubt very much if this is the first (border or otherwise) death that can be attributed to these scumbags.

It is possible that Mexican Drug Cartels have declared war on the United States. These accounts provide the details of the first death. There have been threats made to othe US citizens who live near the border.
