[450] Wouxun mobile radio

I have been using one for a while and have received only good reports. In fact, it gets better reports than the Kenwood F6. Should anyone in range want to hear the Wuoxon audio, let me know. If you want to hear a comparison between the Kenwood and Wouxon let me know and I can schedule that. I can attest to the fact that the Wouxon is unmodified. The Kenwood was purchased used, so I don't know if it was modified. I know some radios put a waterproof membrane over the mic or the opening in the case is not directly over the mic. The Kenwood audio is great with a speaker mic, so I suspect it is a construction/design issue rather than a golden screwdriver. I have also listened to my audio on the air and found it to be decent. I have heard other Wouxon HT's and the audio is decent. I know probably three or four other guys who have had them longer than I and they have not received any complaint regarding audio. I don't think there is a significant quality control issue. A factory rep responds to many queries and jumps in on threads on the user groups. They have asked for help in making the users manuals better as well. There are a number of Chinese HT's available, and as I understand it, some are not as good as others.

For testing purposes, I am in Seymour, CT (FN31kj). I could also arrange testing from a good location in Huntington, CT. With good weather, I could do testing from a high point in CT or perhaps MA.

There are some very good reasons for not buying Chinese products, but I will not go into that here. If anyone wants to discuss that, better to do so off line.

It isn't clear what the output will be on 222 but looks very interesting. If it's priced around $199 it will blow away all the other dual banders.

Any indication of the price point?

Looks like it will be a tribander! 2 M 1.25 M and 70 cm. Max power is 50 W VHF/40W UHF. http://www.wouxun.us/item.php?item_id=228 click on more details and read the pdf. Also looks like a decent receive.
